Ms. Smarty-Plants™ leads your class on a fun & educational field trip through the beautiful Water Conservation Garden! Tour our water-wise plant trails, animal habitats, and enjoy an interactive learning lessons that meet California State Standards, E-STEM and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
GRADE SPECIFIC LESSONS:
Pre-Kindergarten-The Magical Parts of a Plant
1st/2nd grade-Ecosystems and Seed Dispersal
3rd/4th grade-Plants Adaptations in Southern California
5th/6th grade-Water Capture and Conservation
Middle School-Design Your Own Water Wise Habitat
- You’re the gardener! Each student plants a succulent to take home.
- Work together! NGSS activities in the Native Habitat Garden (grade specific).
- Learn about parts of the plant and their adaptations.
- Become a Ms. Smarty-Plants™ Earth Hero!
- Music, magic and fun with Ms. Smarty-Plants™ award-winning program.
School field trips begin at 9:30am, are approximately 2 hours in length and are taught in our large amphitheater. Lunch is area is provided in the amphitheater. Minimum number of students per field trip is 20. Maximum number of students per field trip is 100. Visit FAQ’s link below for more Field Trip information. Field Trips are available Tuesday-Friday.
